A Royal History
De Gruijter is one of the oldest moving companies in The Netherlands. Our history goes back to the founding year 1881, when King William III ordered us to arrange for the first move of household goods from The Hague to the palace “Het Loo”. It was the start of an illustrious history.

Royal and international moves
During the early years of the 20th century the House of Orange appealed to our services several times. This resulted into careful and discrete moves and transports, which in 1920 yielded us the honor of becoming a Royal Warrant Holder. During the subsequent years De Gruijter was undergoing a spectacular growth. Many new customers found their way to our company with as a special newcomer the so called Diplomatic Corps. More and more the company was changing into an international mover.
More than 125 years of experience
At this very moment, at the beginning of the 21st century De Gruijter has developed into a specialist in international moving and has shaped up to a modern, flexible and innovative organization with optimum experience and making use of the most sophisticated hard- and software. A contemporary approach, with respectful conservation of classic style and a royal service.
