De Gruijter supports Ven2-4-cancer
Almost everyone knows someone in their environment with cancer, and all have to witness the terrible fight of these persons against this aggressive disease.
In the initiative Ven2-4Cancer (pronounced as ‘Ventoux for Cancer’) cyclists unite to gather funds in support of cancer recovery. On 9-9-09, their struggle to conquer the Mont Ventoux four times in a single day symbolizes the sheer impossible task that cancer patients undertake every day to live life in spite of a disease. This initiative deserves all the support it can possibly get.
Royal De Gruijter decided to support Ven2-4cancer not by just donating money, but by supporting the organization on a practical level. Our Warehouse manager Sigurd Jolles and his wife Monique will drive a De Gruijter truck with bikes and supplies to the Mont Ventoux. They will assist the cyclists during the week with all logistic aspects of this event.
To enable Sigurd to drive to France, De Gruijter made one of our trucks available, and all employees of De Gruijter donated holiday hours to compensate Sigurds absence during the week.

We wish all the participants good luck, fun and strength on their special journey.
